ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) — Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica for Miss Mabel E. Ellis, 81, a former area resident and Attica High teacher, who died June 23, 1976 in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Rev. Peter Heemstra will officiate. Cremation had been held previously and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. There will be no visitation. Born in Independence, she was the daughter of John Oscar and Melissa May Ellis. She was raised in Fountain and Warren counties, graduated from New York University and taught business administration at Attica High. Later she lived in Raleigh, N.C. and was a member of the Meridth College staff there. She also was a faculty member of Fayette Teachers College and Cape Girardeau Teachers College, both in Missouri. She was a former member of the Ouibahe Chapter of the Daughters' of the American Revolution, the American Association of University Women and Delta Phi Epsilon.
